Clickety-Clack

Well I am finally getting round to writing again, its been a hot minute!

The main catalyst for the resurgence of my newly established, then quickly forgotten blog is the purchase of a mechanical keyboard for the home office. And what a dream it is to type with, that I couldn’t resist typing for the sake of typing! Lame, I know, but here we are.

A heck of a lot has happened since my last post way back in March. I started studying a Diploma in Civil Engineering, we bought a house and moved off the farm into town, I worked in a bar for about 6 weeks and now have landed a dream job that ties in with my course, while still allowing me to study. Phew, exhausted much?

Anyway, the main reason for writing this is to practice with the new mechanical keyboard we got for the home office and I am loving the clicky clacky sound of the keys as I type.

The Cooler Master CK350 is a RGB backlit gaming keyboard with a brushed aluminium base, making it very durable. I chose the brown switch version, preferring the tactile mid-stroke bump in the key actuation better than the more linear red switch, which was our other available alternative.

At just over $100, it was maybe a bit more than I would usually think to spend on a keyboard, but when it is something to be used everyday, its worth spending that bit extra to get what you really want. In the grand scheme of mechanical keyboards $100 is defiantly at the cheaper and more affordable end and you can easily get lost in the rabbit hole of all the different switches and keyboard configurations.

I love the feed back from the mechanical switches on the key board and I figure, if I enjoy the process of working, then I’m going to enjoy the work a bit more too.

Hopefully I’ll be able to carve our some time to click clack a blog post or two a bit more frequently, we have a LOT to catch up on.
